Dr. Stolldorf earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, VA. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and his ophthalmology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He also earned the designation of U.S. Navy Flight Surgeon at the Naval Aviation Medical Institute in Pensacola, FL.
During his six years stationed in North Carolina, Dr. Stolldorf performed thousands of laser vision correction procedures. He also participated in Continuing Promise 2015, a U.S. Navy humanitarian mission providing free medical and surgical care throughout Central America and the Caribbean, reflecting a career defined by service both in uniform and in the clinic.
