Education & Training
Dr. Biber earned his Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude, from Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC before completing his Doctor of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Storm Eye Institute, where he received the Program Director’s Award and the Helma Research Award for his research on intraocular lens design.
He then completed a fellowship in Cornea, Cataract, and LASIK at the Cincinnati Eye Institute under Dr. Edward Holland, one of the world’s leading corneal surgeons, earning advanced expertise in the complex procedures that define his practice today.

Dr. Biber is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataracts and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Society. He serves as President of Horizon Eye Care’s Board and as Medical Director of Novant Health Outpatient Surgery Centers, and has been named a Top Doctor in Charlotte multiple years by his peers.
