Dr. Riley Stroman believes that world-class care begins with listening. As a fellowship-trained retinal and vitreous specialist, he combines advanced medical training with a deep sense of empathy, helping patients facing complex retinal conditions feel informed, confident, and genuinely cared for. Dr. Riley Stroman is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist whose practice focuses on the medical management of retinal and macular disease. His training at Retinal and Vitreous of Texas and his recognition for research in late-onset retinopathy underscore his expertise and dedication to advancing retinal care.

Education & Training
Dr. Stroman earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of South Carolina before completing his Doctor of Medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he received the Preliminary Internal Medicine Intern of the Year Award.
He then completed a vitreoretinal fellowship at Retinal and Vitreous of Texas, receiving specialized training in the medical and surgical management of retinal and macular disease. He has been recognized by the American Society of Retina Specialists for his research presentation on Late-Onset Atypical Exudative Retinopathy of Prematurity (2022).

Dr. Stroman is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the Gold Humanism Honor Society, an unusually broad set of affiliations reflecting his commitment to both medical excellence and compassionate care.
He received the Preliminary Internal Medicine Intern of the Year Award during his residency at the University of Florida and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his compassionate approach to medicine, recognitions that speak to the character he brings to every patient encounter at Horizon Eye Care.
