Before entering medicine, he studied mechanical engineering at UC San Diego and worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, designing advanced imaging instruments, an experience that sharpened his problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Since beginning his medical practice in 2021, Dr. Kaluzny has been known for his thoughtful, patient-first manner, taking time to explain options, ease concerns, and tailor treatments to each individual’s needs. Education & Training
Dr. Kaluzny earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduating at the top of his class, from UC San Diego before completing his Doctor of Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Casey Eye Institute at Oregon Health & Science University and an internal medicine residency at UC San Diego.
Before medicine, Dr. Kaluzny worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory designing astronomy instruments for space-based imaging. During his training he engaged in research advancing OCTA imaging, pathology, and electronic medical records, experience that continues to enrich his clinical expertise and commitment to innovation in eye care.
