Dr. Weidman graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University before earning his medical degree from West Virginia University, where he was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society. Dr. Weidman then moved to Texas, where he completed an internal medicine internship at Baylor Medical Center at Dallas and an ophthalmology residency at the Texas Medical Center at Houston. There, he served as chief resident and concluded with a fellowship in medical and surgical treatment of retinal disorders. He further defined his training with a sabbatical at the National Eye Institute, focusing on uveitis.
