Ravi H. Patel, MD
After graduating from the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Patel obtained his medical degree from Wake Forest University and completed his internship in Charlotte at Carolinas Medical Center. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Pennsylvania State University Hershey Eye Center, where he won numerous awards and was appointed chief resident. Dr. Patel then completed his formal training with a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at the top-ranked Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, where he gained extensive experience with corneal transplantation, complex cataract surgery and refractive surgery.
Dr. Patel has participated in multiple research projects with a particular interest in outcomes related to femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery and corneal transplantation. He has been published in leading ophthalmology journals and presented at national meetings. He has also authored a book chapter describing the management of cataract surgery after LASIK. Dr. Patel remains an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and The Cornea Society.

Dr. Patel is married and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He also enjoys playing and watching basketball and football, and traveling.
