Education: Graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a BA in Biology. Dr. Johnson was the recipient of the Health Professions Scholarship attended the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. While at the Southern College of optometry he was awarded the outstanding leadership and service award through the Gold Key International Optometry Honor Society.
Professional Highlights: Dr. Johnson served six years in the United States Army at WomackArmyHospital atFort Bragg, NC. He worked with the DukeMedicalCenter and the University of North Carolina Medical Center Ophthalmology residency programs. Dr. Johnson coordinated the internship program at the Southern College of Optometry through WomackArmyHospital.
Dr. Johnson began private practice in Statesville, NC in 1984, introducing IredellCounty to new, innovative eye care including retinal scanning, electronic medical records and the most advanced contact lens care. In 2005 he opened Iredell Eye South in Mooresville, NC which merged with Horizon Eye Care in 2006.
Special Interest: Dr. Johnson specializes in primary optometric eye care and contact lens fitting.
Personal Background: Dr. Johnson and his wife have three grown sons, and reside in Mooresville, NC. They enjoy attending Carolina Panthers games and hiking in the North Carolina Mountains.
