Paul G. Galentine, MD

Education: After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy as a Trident Scholar, Dr. Galentine received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He served his medical internship at Bethesda Naval Hospital, as well as one year as a general medical officer for the U.S, Navy. His three-year ophthalmology residency at Bethesda Naval Hospital was followed by a fellowship in Corneal and External Disease at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.

Professional Highlights: Dr. Galentine served as Director of Cornea Service at Bethesda Naval Hospital, and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the F.Edward Herbert School of Medicine. While in the Navy, he was part of an International Eye foundation team, performing eye surgery in Egypt, and served as a flight instructor for the Naval Flight Training Command. A nationally published author and fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, his professional memberships include the International Corneal Society.

Special Interest: Cataract and implant surgery, corneal transplant surgery and refractive surgery top Dr. Galentine's special medical interests.

Personal Background: Dr. Galentine and his wife Barbara, have two sons and one daughter. His interest include collecting first edition mysteries.
