Education: Dr. Pressly's education was based in the Southeast, beginning with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Erskine College in Due West, S.C. He received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina Medical School in Charleston and completed his internship at the acclaimed Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. After serving two years as a flight surgeon with the U.S. Navy's Naval Aerospace Medical Center, he completed his ophthalmology residency at Emory University in Atlanta, followed by a fellowhip in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Texas in Houston.
Professional Highlights: A 20-year veteran of medical and surgical ophthalmology, Dr. Pressly has been an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Carolina Medical School. He is a past chairperson for the Department of Ophthalmology for Presbyterian Hospital, and has been a member of the Board of Trustees at Erskine College, his alma mater. Dr. Pressly maintains membership with numerous national and local medical societies, and has published eight articles on ophthalmology.
