Education: Originally from West Virginia, Dr. Marvin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Michigan Technological University. A recipient of the 1982 Nikon Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement, he studied Applied Immunology at Wayne State University in Detroit and attended Ferris State College of Optometry in Big Rapids, Michigan, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Professional Highlights: In 1986, Dr. Marvin joined the optometry staff at the University of Miami's world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. There he furthered his training in diagnosis and management of eye diseases. Dr. Marvin is a member of several professional associations, including the Barnes-Hind Contact Lens Formulation Committee.
Special Interests: Dr. Marvin specializes in hard-to-fit contact lenses, especially for patients with astigmatism or required bifocals.
Personal Background: Dr. Marvin's wife, Dr. Judy Hustead, is also a physician at Horizon Eye Care. They have two children, Jenna and Allison.
