What does a WavePrint map look like?
The WavePrint
Map is a brightly colored diagram of your vision. The different colors
show your doctor how light is moving through your eye -- for example,
red shows areas in which light moves quickly, blue shows areas in which
light is moving slowly.
How is the WavePrint different than other mapping systems?
The WavePrint
Map provides information on more than just the surface of your eye. It
reveals the way your entire eye processes light. This allows for a more
personalized treatment.
Why should I request a WavePrint Map?
The WavePrint Map allows your doctor to accurately assess whether you’re a good candidate for laser vision correction. Anyone who is considering laser vision correction should obtain a WavePrint Map as the first step.
What does this process involve?
The WavePrint System features the VISX S4 laser. This laser includes two exclusive features: Variable Spot Scanning and 3D ActiveTrak technologies, giving the doctor more options to further personalize your treatment.
What is Variable Spot Scanning?
Variable
Spot Scanning is an exclusive VISX laser technology that allows a
larger treatment area to best accommodate your visual needs.
What is 3D ActiveTrak?
The unique 3D ActiveTrak
element means that you no longer have to hold your eye perfectly still,
which is a challenge for many patients. Instead, it automatically and
instantaneously tracks the minute movements of your eye during the
laser treatment.
I have concerns about "night vision". What if my pupil size is very large or very small?
You
need to discuss these concerns with your doctor, to determine if you
are a good candidate. The technology we use provides the doctor with
the necessary flexibility in planning your personalized treatment.
What can I expect from my VISX WavePrint laser vision correction?
The VISX WavePrint
System will provide the physician precise and more detailed
information, along with the necessary flexibility for your personalized
treatment. Your doctor will determine if you are a good candidate to
benefit from these technologies.
