Each year, Charlotte magazine compiles a Top Doctors list and recently they did a survey among more than 3,000 physicians certified by the North Carolina Medical Board. The survey had one question:
“What doctor would you call if you or a loved one needed medical care?”
Doctors responding to the survey could not vote for themselves. Most of the surveys were returned and Charlotte magazine published the results in their July, 2009 issue. The results included 39 medical specialties, and 265 doctors were voted by their peers to be the best in those areas.
Dr. David N. Ugland is one of two physicians voted as best in Ophthalmology. Dr. Ugland has been in practice since 1985 in Charlotte and is the Medical Director for the Eye Bank of LifeShare of the Carolinas. That is an agency that obtains and stores live organs, including corneas, donated for restoring a person’s eyesight through a corneal transplant.
Dr. Ugland is one of Horizon Eye Care’s LASIK surgeons and was one of the FDA’s clinical investigators for the LASIK trials during the years 1992 through 1996, for FDA approval. Besides doing corneal transplants, he also treats cataracts and can restore your eyesight by implanting an artificial lens to replace the cataractous lens.
At Horizon Eye Care, we are pleased and proud that Dr. Ugland has achieved such an excellent reputation in the medical world, as we know him to be a highly-skilled, ethical, and capable eye doctor.
If you would like to consult with Dr. Ugland or another of our eye doctors, please call or email us today. We have eight locations in North Carolina and we hope to speak with you soon.
