(Statesville, NC – January 19, 2009) – Iredell Health System announced today that together with Horizon Eye Care they have developed Iredell County’s first retina surgical program.
“Patients will no longer have to travel outside of the county to get the very best surgical eye care,” said Ed Rush, CEO and President of Iredell Health System. “We are thrilled to provide the community with cataract and retinal care in our state-of-the-art surgical suites that have been specially equipped to provide the latest care.”
Dr. Strutha Rouse, a retinal specialist, is seeing patients at Horizon Eye Care’s new Statesville office located at 525 Brookdale Drive in Statesville, adjacent to Iredell Memorial Hospital’s campus.
Dr. Rouse obtained his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in 2000. He interned at Evanston Northwestern Hospital in Evanston, Illinois before completing his residency at McGraw Medical Center of Northwestern University in Chicago. During his two years fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at Northwestern, he served as a clinical instructor. Dr. Rouse has served the Charlotte and Lake Norman communities for the past two years.
