Dr. Strutha C. Rouse II
will be the first in the Lake Norman Area to offer retina/vitreous care
to that area. He will also be practicing in the University area.
Dr.
Rouse graduated magna cum laude with honors from Clark Atlanta
University in 1996. With a B.S. in Biology, he went on to earn his
medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in 2000.
After
his first year at Emory he received the University’s distinguished
Medial Student Research Fellowship that initiated his interest in
ophthalmology. He interned at Evanston Northwester Hospital in
Evanston, Illinois before completing his residency at McGaw Medical
Center of Northwester University in Chicago. Dr. Rouse remained at
Northwestern to study Vitreoretinal diseases and surgery for an
additional two years. During this time, he served as a clinical
instructor, aiding residents didactically and surgically.
Dr.
Rouse specializes in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and
vitreous. These include diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments,
vascular abnormalities and macular diseases such as macular
degeneration, macular holes, and macular pucker.
