CNP TECHNOLOGIES INSTALLS SHORETEL SYSTEM AT HORIZON EYE CARE OFFICES

IP Telephony system ties all five offices together

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Horizon Eye Care, Charlotte’s leader in refractive surgery, selected CNP Technologies to install and deploy a new IP-based PBX from ShoreTel Communications. Charlotte-based CNP Technologies, a dealer for the comprehensive phone system, completed installation for the unique IP telephony system that delivers supreme reliability, scalability and manageability about a month ago.

“Horizon chose CNP to install the system based on our current outsourcing relationship,” said Rod Roeser, Chief Executive Officer of Horizon Eye Care.  In addition to the ShoreTel system, CNP Technologies provides Horizon Eye Care with all of their IT needs, including managing their data network, network security, project management and LAN/WAN design.

Roeser said they received demonstrations from both ShoreTel and one other major VoIP provider and chose ShoreTel for several reasons. “It’s compatibility with our existing switch network, as well as ease of use and straightforward setup, were two of its most appealing attributes,” he said.  “We were also impressed with the technical expertise of the CNP Technologies staff.” 

Using voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) technology, the ShoreTel system will be utilized by Horizon Eye Care to service users at their multi-site locations, including Cotswold, Lake Norman, Pineville, the Arboretum and University areas. Prior to installation, Horizon had a stand-alone telephone system in each office, which made it difficult to operate as a single physician practice.  “The new ShoreTel System will provide a seamless way to tie all of their offices together,” said Syd Shepherd of CNP Technologies. Embracing this new technology will also help improve patient care, as well as keep costs at Horizon Eye Care under control and improve customer service.
