Recovering From Blepharoplasty

Also called eyelid surgery or an eyelid lift, blepharoplasty corrects sagging or drooping of your eyelids. By removing excess skin and fat around the eye area, your appearance becomes refreshed and revitalized.

This surgery can be performed on anyone in their 20s on into their 70s and takes anywhere from one to three hours. The pain factor is generally mild; pain medication should alleviate any discomfort.

Post-op

Following surgery, you are likely to experience moderate swelling. Having someone around to help you during recovery is best. You should keep your head elevated, even while you sleep. Many find that a recliner works best. You can also hold a cold compress on your eyelids during the first 48 hours, as this will help the swelling to subside more quickly.
