Do you ever see blind spots in your vision? Are there occasional wavy lines that appear in your line of vision? Do you experience terrible headaches when you suffer from these symptoms? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you may be suffering from ocular migraines. Migraine Types When you hear the term migraine, you probably think of a painful headache; however, there are different types of migraines. With the typical migraine, you would suffer from a headache that lasts hours or even days. With an ocular migraine, you would not necessarily even have a head ache. With the ocular migraine, due to changes in blood flow to the brain, you typically experience a blind spot in your vision. The blind spot can increase and decrease in size, be accompanied by wavy lines, and may move across your field of vision. The Danger of Ocular Migraines Ocular migraines can be dangerous, especially if you are involved in an activity where impaired sight puts you in harm's way. If you are experiencing an ocular migraine, and you are in the process of an activity like driving a car, you should stop immediately (or as soon as possible) and wait for the migraine to pass. If you suspect that you are suffering from ocular migraines, you should consult an eye doctor.
