Charles F. Marshall, MD

Education:

Dr. Marshall is a graduate of Davidson College and earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. This was followed by a rotating internship and residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Virginia, where he served as chief resident. In addition, he completed a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX.

Professional Highlights:

Dr. Marshall has been in practice since 1978. Over the course of his career, he has served as Chairman of Ophthalmology at both Presbyterian and Carolina Medical Center, Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Carolina Medical School, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina. Between his internship and ophthalmology residency, Dr. Marshall served as captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and physician at Davidson College. A strong advocate for children’s eye care, Dr. Marshall instituted eye screening examinations for premature infants in the neonatal intensive care units at Charlotte-area hospitals. Dr. Marshall has been listed in several “Top Doctors” lists through the years.

Personal Background:

A native of South Carolina, Dr. Marshall and his wife, Martha Jean, have two sons, Charles and Edward and five grandchildren.
